Three-Day Residential Wilderness Camp 'Jwala' Concludes with Cultural Evening
Udaipur, The three-day residential wilderness camp 'Jwala' organized by the Lokmanya Tilak Teacher Training College, under the auspices of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, concluded with a vibrant cultural evening, where students presented performances inspired by Indian culture and eternal values. The cultural evening beautifully reflected the essence of Indian traditions, with students staging captivating tableaux, including depictions of Lord Shri Ram, the story of Khatu Shyam, and other dance-dramas that deeply moved the audience.
Professor Sarangdevot Emphasizes the Need to Transmit Eternal Values to Future Generations
The cultural program commenced with the lighting of lamps and offering flowers at the statue of Goddess Saraswati by the chief guests, including Colonel Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot (Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth), Bhawar Lal Gurjar KUL PRAMUKH, Principal Prof. Saroj Garg, Dr. Rachna Rathore, Dr. Ami Rathore, Dr. Balidan Jain, Dr. Sunita Murdia, and Dr. Bhuralal Shrimali. The ceremony showcased glimpses of India's timeless traditions.
Welcoming the guests, Principal Prof. Saroj Garg presented a report on the three-day camp. She highlighted how students raised awareness against societal evils through wall magazines, rallies, and street plays. Dr. Rachna Rathore, the camp coordinator, shared that the cultural evening included performances based on Lord Ram’s tableau, "Khatu Shyam – The Support of the Defeated", the love story of Krishna and Sudama, the marriage of Shiva and Parvati, the life of Rani of Jhansi, and stories of Ekalavya and Tanaji, along with patriotic group dances and classical songs that left both guests and students emotionally moved. Additionally, dance performances to Rajasthani, Punjabi, and Bengali songs got everyone on their feet.
At the end of the program, all participants lit candles, pledging to foster love for the country, help others, and maintain communal harmony.
A Call to Youth for Preserving and Passing On Cultural Values
Vice Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot expressed appreciation for the participation of 550 students in the camp, with 50% of them engaging in the cultural activities, which he praised as a commendable effort. He emphasized that the responsibility of transferring Indian culture and traditions to future generations lies with the youth. Quoting the founder, the great scholar Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar, he reminded the gathering that education remains incomplete until it reaches the last person in society. Prof. Sarangdevot also emphasized that while culture shapes humanity, it ultimately teaches us humanity itself. He noted that the joint family system is a school of life, and India is the youngest country in the world.
The event was conducted by Dr. Indu Acharya, Dr. Renu Hingad, and Chetan Solanki, while Dr. Rachna Rathore expressed gratitude to all involved.
During the program, several faculty members and students, including Dr. Amit Baheti, Private Secretary KK Kumawat, Dr. Sarita Menaria, Dr. Amit Dave, Dr. Rohit Kumawat, Dr. Himmat Singh, Dr. Harish Choubisa, Dr. Neetu Dadhich, Dr. Nilam Tiwari, Dr. Indu Acharya, Dr. Subhash Purohit, Dr. Mamta Kumawat, Dr. Harish Menaria, Dr. Renu Hingad, Dr. Hemlata Jain, Mahendra Verma, and Dr. Tilkesh Ameta, as well as academic and non-academic staff, actively participated in the cultural celebration.
