Service to Silent Animals is the Greatest Service: Governor Shri Bagde
Udaipur: The Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhao Kishanrao Bagde, stated that serving mute animals is the greatest form of service. While humans can express their physical pain and seek medical help, animals cannot speak. It is a significant challenge for veterinary professionals and students, yet their service to these animals is commendable and praiseworthy.
Governor Shri Bagde was addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of development projects at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Nawania, in Vallabhnagar, Udaipur district, as the chief guest on Saturday. He highlighted the immense potential in the animal husbandry and dairy sector in Rajasthan, emphasizing that this sector is closely linked to the livelihoods of poor and common people. The state government runs several schemes to promote animal husbandry and the dairy industry. Shri Bagde shared his own experience, mentioning that he had been associated with animal husbandry and dairy unions for many years. He praised the native breed of animals and stressed the importance of their conservation and promotion. The Governor also urged students to focus on developing expertise in their field, stating that in the present era of competition and specialization, simply being educated is not enough. Students must work diligently and gain specialization in their subjects.
Earlier, Governor Shri Bagde virtually laid the foundation stones for several development projects, including the guest house, college boundary wall, and road construction from the college campus temple to Zorji Ka Khera. He also launched the college’s brochure.
Speaking at the event, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Cow Breeding, and Religious Affairs, Shri Jorar Ram Kumawat, mentioned that Rajasthan has approximately 7.5 crore livestock, equal to the state's human population. The state government is continuously expanding veterinary services to keep the livestock healthy. Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma has initiated mobile veterinary units that provide treatment for sick animals at farmers' doorsteps. Additionally, the Mangal Animal Insurance Scheme insures dairy animals, while the Cow Breeding Card Scheme provides loans of up to one lakh rupees to farmers. Chittorgarh MP, Shri C.P. Joshi, also addressed the gathering, and Vallabhnagar MLA, Shri Udaylal Dangi, was present as a guest.
The event began with a warm welcome for the Governor and other guests by Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, Acharya Manoj Dikshit, and Dean of the College, Professor Balwant Meshram. In his welcome address, Vice-Chancellor Shri Dikshit informed the audience about the activities of the university and college. The event was conducted by Dr. Abhishek Gaurav and Dr. Mamta, and the vote of thanks was given by Dean Dr. Balwant Meshram.
The event was attended by Additional District Collector Administration, Deependra Singh Rathore, Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Sharad Arora, NSC ANO Dr. Sanveer Khatun, College faculty members including Dr. Teekam Goyal, Dr. Govardhan, Dr. Sunil Arora, Dr. Mahendra Meel, Dr. Tarun Preet, as well as staff, students, and the general public.
