Library and Information Science Students Visit Libraries in Delhi

 

The Department of Library and Information Science at Mohanlal Sukhadia University organized an educational trip. During this five-day tour, students visited libraries at national institutions in Delhi to study the modern services and functions provided by library and information science centers. They visited libraries at IIT Delhi, NASDAQ, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Library at JNU, ICSSR, National Academy of Literature and Arts, Music Arts Academy, the Prime Minister's Museum and Library, where they explored new techniques for preserving various forms and traditional information sources.

The organizer of this educational trip and head of the Library and Information Science Department, Dr. P.S. Rajput, shared that 69 postgraduate students participated. The tour was designed for an in-depth study of renowned national institutions, heritage sites, and libraries in New Delhi. Students also gained knowledge about national heritage sites such as Qutub Minar, the Prime Minister’s Museum, Red Fort, and Raj Ghat.

This educational tour, which helps students understand the advancements and global status of their field, is encouraged by the new National Education Policy. It serves as a great means for students to learn about the ongoing changes and innovations in library and information centers. Through this visit, students observed the services provided by modern technologies and studied the utility of new resources for preserving and securing information in the future.

The tour was attended by the department’s faculty members including Anuj Yadav, Mahendra Patel, Jitendra Meghwal, Shravan Shrimali, Raviranjay Raj Singh, Narayan Salvi, Kemi Verma, Bharti, Komal Sahu, and others.
