Udaipur/Rajsamand: The third edition of the literary and dialogue festival, Mewar Talk Fest (MTF), will commence at Bhikshu Nilayam in Rajsamand on Saturday. Themed "The Story of India's Identity," the festival promises an engaging confluence of literature, art, music, and discussions. Addressing the press conference on Friday, patrons Madanmohan Tank, Lalit Sahu, and co-convenor Sheetal Paliwal shared event details. Earlier in the day, the organizing team sought blessings from Lord Dwarkadhish. District Judge Raghvendra Kachhwal inaugurated a photo exhibition marking 75 years of the Indian Constitution. Additionally, a screening and review of the movie Game Changer were conducted, and a "Writer's Talk" session featured Yagyavendra Yadav.


Highlights of the Opening Day (January 11):

The inauguration session will feature Haveli music presented by Mansvi Vyas and a recitation of Rashmirathi by Anjali Juyal as part of the devotional tribute to Lord Krishna. A keynote address on "The Story of India's Identity" will be delivered by Surendra Singh Rao Mrityunjay.

In the second session, a panel discussion on "Cinema and Society" will include film producer Vivek Sharma, writer Murari Gupta, and musician Ekarth in conversation with Professor Amitabh. Concurrently, there will be a storytelling competition with a four-minute limit and a drawing competition themed "Historic/Religious Sites of Mewar." Author Amit Verma will discuss his book Deendayal Upadhyay in the "Writer's Talk" session.

In the afternoon, a discussion session on "Swami Vivekananda: Proponent of Self-Awareness" will feature insights from authors Umesh Chaurasia, Dr. Swatantra Kumar, and Bhupendra Joshi, moderated by Professor Kunjana Acharya. In an inspiring session, JNU Professor Dr. Rajesh Jangid will guide volunteers on management and study techniques.

The night stage session will feature a play directed by K.L. Kalawat in honor of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.

Day 2 (January 12):

The second day will begin with the screening of the short film Veer Bala, dedicated to martyr Kalibai Bhil. Director Shubham, child artist Bhoomika Bhatt, and actress Paridhi Bhatnagar will share their experiences with the audience. Concurrent workshops on "The Art of Reading" by Ruchi Shrimali and Praveen Makwana and "Creative Writing" by Prof. Sangeeta Pranavendra and Prof. Kunjana Acharya will also take place.

The first panel discussion, "Critical Thinking in the Digital Age," will feature social worker Mamaraj Meghwal, social media expert Yogesh Rajpurohit, influencer Paridhi Bhatnagar, and writer Chandresh Taylor, moderated by Sheetal Paliwal.

In the "Writer's Talk" session, Harshvardhan will engage readers with his book Hindu Economy.

The second panel discussion on "Expressions of Power" will host IIMC Professor Sangeeta Pranavendra, sociologist Ritu Srivastava, and author Shivani Swarnkar in conversation with Ruchi Shrimali.

The closing session in the evening will feature Prof. Sangeeta Pranavendra addressing the topic "Indian Perspective on Global Welfare." Participants and volunteers will be honored during the ceremony.

Book Launches:

Books being launched during the fest include Hanuman in the Present by Chandresh Taylor, Sugandha by Murari Gupta, Main Vivekanand Hoon by Umesh Kumar Chaurasia, and Letter to the Editor by Indu Mani. Additionally, each session will feature a brief introduction to a contemporary book by students.

Raj Pustak Mandap:

A special "Raj Book Pavilion" will be set up, offering thousands of books for enthusiasts. The National Book Trust (NBT), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, will participate with its collection, along with other publishers like Indus Scrolls Press, Garuda Prakashan, Prabhat Prakashan, and many more. The pavilion will cater to readers of all ages with books on competitive exams, science, technology, literature, autobiographies, religious texts, and more, available in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Gujarati, and Punjabi.

Writer's Talk in Open-Air Arena:

Rajsamand's literary enthusiasts will have the opportunity to interact with authors in the open-air arena, participate in workshops, and engage in literary activities. Visitors can also get their purchased books signed by the authors.

Exhibition on 75 Years of the Constitution:

An exhibition showcasing the intricacies of 22 illustrations included in the Indian Constitution will be organized. The visuals depict national pride and heritage, including figures like Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Gautam Buddha, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Guru Gobind Singh, and more.

Cultural Performances and More:

A play based on the life of Swami Vivekananda will be staged under the direction of Kanhaiyalal Kalawat. Additionally, stalls featuring traditional Mollela art, handcrafted tribal products, alternative tea products, and refreshments will be available.

Previous Editions of Mewar Talk Fest:

The inaugural edition of MTF, themed "Parakrami Bharat," was held on January 23, 2023, at Maharana Pratap Agriculture University, Udaipur, marking Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti. The second edition, "Udayman Bharat," was organized on March 30-31, 2024, at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, focusing on India's cultural identity and Indian values in the Constitution.
