21st Vice-Chancellor's "Chal Vaijayanti" Sports Competition Concludes

Udaipur,  The 21st Vice-Chancellor’s “Chal Vaijayanti” sports competition, organized at the grounds of the College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE), Udaipur, concluded on Friday with a prize distribution ceremony. The host CTAE team claimed victory, securing the Chal Vaijayanti trophy.

The competition, held under the joint auspices of the Central Non-Teaching Staff Union and the Non-Teaching Staff Welfare Committee of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, saw over 300 players participating in various sports events. The Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that sports not only offer entertainment but also instill positive energy, brotherhood, discipline, leadership, and teamwork. He said sports could make life successful and joyful, with the greatest victory being that of the entire team.

The ceremony was presided over by CTAE Dean Dr. Anupam Bhatnagar, who encouraged participants to play with spirit and brotherhood, highlighting how sports help alleviate stress. Special guests included Director of Research Dr. Arvind Verma, Dean of CDFT Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dean of RCA Dr. R.B. Dubey, Dean of Agriculture College, Dungarpur Dr. R.P. Meena, Dean of CCAS Dr. Dhriti Solanki, and Dr. Sunil Joshi from DPM.

The Central Non-Teaching Staff Union’s patron, Karan Singh Shaktawat, mentioned that the winning teams were awarded the Vice-Chancellor Chal Vaijayanti Trophy, certificates, and prizes by the Chief and Special Guests. Excellent players were also honored with certificates of appreciation. Union President Rajni Kant Sharma shared that the retired staff members, who would retire by December 2024, were also recognized.

Program Coordinator Gitesh Jain informed that in the basketball finals, CTAE emerged victorious, while the administrative office team won in volleyball, and CTAE triumphed in football. The athletics events, including the 100m and 400m races, were thrilling. Lovpreet Nokhwal of RCA secured first place in the 100m and 400m races. Deepa Indoria of the Directorate of Education took first place in the women’s 100m race. Devaraj triumphed in shot put, and Rakesh Kumar Yadav won in long jump.

In the kabaddi finals, RCA’s team took the win, while Dr. Pankaj Upadhyay from CTAE won in table tennis and badminton, alongside Irshad Mohammed and Gitesh Jain. In the thrilling tug-of-war final, CTAE defeated RCA’s team 2-0. In the 21st Chal Vaijayanti Sports Competition, Chandan Dave from the administrative office was recognized as the best player across all sports. In football, CTAE's Khem Raj Dangi, in kabaddi, RCA’s Mangla Ram Dangi, in volleyball, CTAE’s Devashish Kumar, and in basketball, CTAE’s Bhairu Lal Dangi were also honored as best players.

Union President Rajni Kant Sharma gave the welcome speech, and Sports Minister L.N. Salvi presented the sports report.
