A grand exhibition was organized by the Geology Department of Bhupal Nobles Postgraduate College under the Faculty of Science, attracting students, teachers, and geology enthusiasts in large numbers. The exhibition featured ancient rocks of the Aravalli mountain range, minerals, fossils, and geological models, designed to provide insights into Earth's processes and natural resources. A special segment on Rajasthan's geological wealth showcased detailed information about limestone, quartz, sandstone, and karst landforms.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. N.K. Kawadia, a National Mineral Awardee, along with special guests Dr. P.K. Vardia (former Director, Mines Department), Dr. Vinod Agrawal (former Dean, MLSU Science College), Dr. Ritesh Purohit (Head, Geology Department), S.N. Dodia (Additional Director, Mines Department), and other dignitaries.
The live demonstration of fossil identification and the process of constructing geological structures was a major highlight. The poster exhibition also emphasized the role of geology in addressing sustainable mining and environmental challenges.
Students from various institutions, including BN Public School, Alok Senior Secondary, The Study, Abhinav English Medium, MDS, DPS, and Ascent, participated with enthusiasm and showcased their talents.
The event concluded with the distribution of awards. Lakshita Chauhan (BNU) secured the first prize, followed by Nandini Purohit (Abhinav Senior Secondary) and Riddhi Raj Rathore (BNU) in second place. The third prize was jointly awarded to Dhananjay Singh Chauhan and Tanmay Sharma (BNU) and Yogendra, Garvit, and Abhishek (Singhania University).
Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore expressed that such exhibitions help develop scientific curiosity and perspective among students. The information was provided by Dr. Hemant Sen, Head of the Geology Department, and Dr. Chandrrekha Sharma.
