Jaipur: The Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2025, recognized as the world’s largest competitive film festival, will commence with a grand opening on Friday, January 17, at 4:30 PM at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC). The highlight of this year’s event is the Musical Red Carpet Opening Ceremony. Over 400 filmmakers, directors, actors, producers, distributors, and prominent figures from the global film industry will grace the occasion.

Awards Announcement:
This year, 98 awards will be presented to 75 exceptional films from the 240 nominated entries spanning 48 countries.
The awards ceremony will be held on the opening day itself.
Cultural & Musical Highlights
The opening ceremony will feature vibrant cultural and musical performances:
Ganesh Vandana:
Directed by the world-renowned sitar maestro Pt. Chandra Mohan Bhatt, featuring sitar, vocals, and tabla.
Welcome Song:
Performed by Rajasthan’s traditional Manganiyar artists with songs like Aao Ni Padharo Mharo Desh, Neemuda-Neemuda, and Chirmir Barse Megh Re.
Musical Instrumental Welcome:
Traditional instruments such as Bhapang, Morchang, Khartal, and Nagara will greet guests on the Red Carpet.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This year’s Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the “King of Romance,” Late Yash Chopra. His grandson, Rishabh Chopra, will travel from Mumbai to Jaipur to receive the award.

Introduction of the Red Carpet Tradition
For the first time, JIFF is introducing the Red Carpet Opening Ceremony, where over 100 celebrities and renowned filmmakers from across the globe will participate. The concept of a chief guest has been replaced, emphasizing the film industry and its contributors.
