Udaipur(Rajasthan). Udaipur's child painter Devi Shri Dixit presented her handmade oil painting to District Collector Arvind Poswal in his office on the 428th death anniversary of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap.
This multicoloured painting by Devi Shri Dixit shows Maharana Pratap carrying a spear and wearing his traditional war attire and a turban, the symbol of pride and honour of Mewar. In this lively image, Maharana Pratap's imposing personality with thick moustache and lively eyes have made the painting very lively.
District Collector Poswal while praising the natural talent of painting of Devi Shri Dixit extended his hearty congratulations, best wishes and blessings to him and wished him continued progress.
It is noteworthy that Devi Shri Dixit Bhattiyani, a student of St. Mary's School Udaipur, is the daughter of Udaipur's well-known astrologer Arvind Dixit and teacher (Principal of a private school) Deepa Dixit, resident of Bhattiyani Chohatta. She has had a keen interest in painting and other creative works since childhood, due to which she has already made many unique and unmatched paintings.
Devi Shri has made this portrait of Maharana Pratap of Mewar, inspired by his heroism, bravery, sacrifice, valor, self-respect and determination to protect the motherland and his refusal to accept subordination to the Mughal Emperor Akbar and his portrait of him has been made after being inspired by the historic battle of Haldighati and the inspiring story of his becoming immortal in history for his death among the tribals in Chavand.
