Medical Team Departs for Free Surgery Camp in Barabanki

Udaipur, January 21: A team of 88 medical professionals from Udaipur departed on Tuesday, January 21, for a free surgical camp at Shri Ram Van Kutir Ashram, Handiya Kol Jungle, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The team left from the Maharana Bhupal Statue in front of BN School at 8:00 AM. The departure ceremony was flagged off by DIG (ACB) IPS Rajendra Prasad Goyal, along with prominent personalities like Shantilal Chaplot, social worker Pramod Samar, Dharmnarayan Joshi, and CA Anil Shah. Also present on the occasion were Professor S.K. Samar, Ramesh Purohit, Sampat Barala, Pratap Samota, Dinesh Sisodia, Chandrakala Paliwal, Hiralal Khatik, Deepak Poddar, Ramlal Agarwal, and Ramesh Dangi from Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, alongside a large number of medical professionals.

A Legacy of Service
The camp, inspired by the teachings of the late Saint Swami Ramdas Maharaj, has been held annually for the past 44 years. Dr. J.K. Chaparwal, the team coordinator, highlighted that medical professionals from Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Kuraj, Kapasan, and nearby regions form part of the team. The team includes doctors, nursing staff, ward assistants, and support staff. All members volunteer their services during their personal leave and at their own expense.

Focus of the Camp
The camp aims to provide surgical treatment to underprivileged people in the remote areas of Barabanki. Conditions such as hernia, hydrocele, uterine disorders, piles, and cataracts will be addressed. An on-site temporary operation theater will be set up with six OT tables, enabling pre-selected patients to undergo necessary diagnostic tests, preoperative procedures, and surgeries. Approximately 3,000 surgeries are expected to be performed, offering much-needed relief to patients from marginalized communities.

The medical camp will run until February 14, demonstrating a continued commitment to selfless service and healthcare outreach in one of India’s most underserved regions.
