MP Mannalal Rawat Meets Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister

Udaipur. Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Coal, Mines, and Steel, and Udaipur MP, Mannalal Rawat, met Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma during his visit to the state. Discussions focused on PESA law, tribal development schemes, and constitutional rights. Mr. Rawat shared Rajasthan’s experiences with the implementation of PESA law and proposed suggestions on leveraging governors' powers to enhance its impact.

Earlier, Mr. Rawat, along with other committee members, visited the world’s second-largest coal mine, Gevra, and the Bhilai Steel Plant. During their tour of Gevra mine in Korba, the members reviewed mining activities, safety measures, and environmental conservation efforts. The Gevra team presented a film and a PPT to brief the committee on the operational practices. The delegation also held an informal discussion with representatives from the Ministry of Coal, Coal India, and SECL on safety issues.

During the visit to Bhilai Steel Plant, Mr. Rawat evaluated the progress of Greenfield and Brownfield projects. He highlighted that the plant has played a crucial role in the development of the country’s infrastructure and railways. The plant’s advanced technology and commitment to environmental sustainability were appreciated.
