Udaipur: A workshop organized under the banner of the Forum for Crèches and Childcare Services Rajasthan by Alert Sansthan emphasized prioritizing early childcare and development proposals in local governance. Gogunda Development Officer Mahip Singh discussed the formulation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) in upcoming Gram Sabhas and urged active community participation in prioritizing these proposals. Singh highlighted the need to create model villages by developing essential facilities at the grassroots level and stressed the collective effort required to achieve this vision. He assured that issues related to early childcare for children aged 0-6 would be included in village-level plans and proposals.
Alert Sansthan Founder B.K. Gupta shared that FORCE has been conducting block-level workshops across the state through various organizations to raise community awareness about early childcare and related government schemes. The aim is to ensure these issues are included as priorities in GPDPs. Alert Sansthan President Jitendra Mehta welcomed the attendees and addressed challenges faced at the Anganwadi level, urging representatives to collaborate in creating and implementing development plans for Anganwadis and children.
Dr. Priya Jhanjhariya, a pediatrician from the Gogunda Community Health Center, highlighted the importance of timely care for children and pregnant mothers. She emphasized focused nutrition and early treatment of illnesses in children up to the age of two to ensure their proper development.
During the workshop, community leaders and panchayat representatives raised concerns about better Anganwadi operations, crèche management, and school facilities. The session was conducted by Alert Sansthan’s activist, Devilal Gameti. The workshop witnessed participation from 10 Gram Panchayats, including village heads, panchayat members, Anganwadi workers, ASHA associates, and 60 community members, along with Prakash Meghwal from Hand in Hand India.
