Award Ceremony for Talented Girls on National Girl Child Day

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day (January 24), an event was organized at the Prime Minister Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School (Matka Chowk) to promote a brighter future and girl child empowerment. District Collector Dr. Manju was the chief guest at the event. The program began with a Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the lamp by the girls. Following this, the talented girls of the district were honored by the guests.

While wishing the girls on Girl Child Day, the District Collector encouraged the students by sharing her life journey, from school to the present. She emphasized that with hard work, one can achieve their goals. She also urged the girls to use mobile phones minimally for studying and focus more on books. Special attention should be given to practice, and during exam preparation, quality study and focus on the syllabus should be prioritized. She advised the students to stay stress-free. Furthermore, she encouraged the girls to stay alert for self-defense.

The Assistant Director of the Women Empowerment Department, Mr. Vijay Kumar, congratulated the girls on the 10th anniversary of the "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" campaign. He also urged students who have turned 18 to ensure they have a voter ID. The students shared their thoughts on National Girl Child Day, and the Chief District Education Officer, Mr. Girjesh Kant Sharma, expressed his gratitude. After the event, the District Collector also visited the school for an inspection.
