Dr. Rajni Represents Rajasthan in Pune Workshop

Udaipur: Dr. Rajni P. Rawat represented Rajasthan at a workshop organized by the National Commission for Women in Pune, Maharashtra, on the topic of premarital counseling and education.

During the workshop, Dr. Rajni highlighted the issue of constitutional rights of tribal women being revoked after marrying outside their community, particularly to Christian or Muslim men. She shared insights on preserving tribal culture while ensuring the protection of their constitutional rights.

Addressing the challenges posed by urbanization, she provided suggestions on how to resolve these issues. Using examples from tribal-dominated regions such as Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, she presented facts before the commission regarding threats to tribal women, including land encroachment by illegal Rohingya settlers and concerns related to love jihad.

The workshop, attended by women representatives from across the country, aimed to gather recommendations for the development of a training module on premarital counseling and education by the National Commission for Women.
