Kota: The Railway Colony's temporary police outpost on Northern Bypass Road, Bh Dana, is remembering Shankar Lal Meena, a young, smart, honest, and dedicated officer from the Rajasthan Police, who served as a Deputy Police Superintendent (RPS). If he had stayed a bit longer in the Kota Police, this temporary outpost would not be in its current dilapidated state. Instead, it would have transformed into a permanent, well-equipped police outpost, just like the Collectorate Police Outpost and Khedli Phatak Police Outpost.
We are talking about Shankar Lal Meena, the honest, hard-working, and duty-bound officer who played a crucial role in controlling crime and instilling fear in criminals. During his tenure as Police Circle Officer in Kota, he not only worked to reduce crime but also improved the condition of police stations and outposts in his circle, making them more beautiful and functional.
Shankar Lal Meena worked tirelessly to relocate the circle office from the Naya Pura police station to a large government bungalow on the main road in Civil Lines. This new office offered a much better setup for the public, providing sufficient seating for complainants—something that was lacking at the previous office in Naya Pura. The then Superintendent of Police praised Shankar Lal Meena's efforts during the inauguration of the new office, acknowledging that the success of the new office was a direct result of his hard work.
During his tenure, Shankar Lal Meena was also instrumental in setting up the Nanta Police Station and Bhimganj Mandi Phatak Police Outposts, as well as improving the Collectorate Police Outpost, which became a model for other outposts. His efforts made a significant impact, and he was widely recognized for his honesty and strict actions against criminals.
However, his work did not sit well with a Congress leader, which led to his transfer from Kota. Shankar Lal Meena is currently serving as the Deputy Police Superintendent at Kota GRP and is now working in the new Police Sub-Division Office at the GRP.
The Railway Colony Police Outpost remembers Shankar Lal Meena and wonders when they will have an honest officer like him who can improve their station's condition.
