A two-day poultry farming training program for 30 women from self-help groups in Jhadol and Falasia, and 40 farming families from Gudli, was organized at Rajasthan Agricultural College under the joint initiative of the National Agricultural Development Scheme and the All India Rural Women Research Project. The goal under the National Agricultural Development Scheme is to form 10 women’s self-help groups and provide training in various agricultural businesses. To this end, 10 women’s self-help groups were formed in Jhadol and Falasia.
Project in-charge Dr. Vishakha Bansal explained that over these two days, the women were taught the nuances of poultry farming, including when and how to feed the chickens, how to prepare chicken coops, vaccination, and egg collection.
Dr. Gajanan, Dr. Subhash, Dr. D.P.S. Dudi, Deewalal Meghwal, Dr. Kesaram, Dr. Manoj, and others provided detailed information on poultry farming. The training focused on connecting the self-help groups to income enhancement and making them self-reliant. During the program, Shri Karthik Salvi, Dr. Kusum Sharma, and Anushka Tiwari took the women on a visit to the livestock unit.
