Udaipur: A successful welcome and orientation program for new postgraduate students was organized on Monday at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, Umarda, Udaipur. Previously, 67 postgraduate students were admitted annually, but this year, NMC has granted 158 seats for postgraduate courses, a matter of pride for the institution.
Due to the excellent infrastructure and dedicated staff at the institute, the MBBS seats have also increased. Earlier, 150 MBBS students were admitted every year, and this year, NMC has approved 200 seats for MBBS students.
During the event, 158 new postgraduate students were welcomed. The Chairman of the Institute, Ashish Agarwal, Mrs. Sheetal Agarwal, and Managing Director Naman Agarwal, wished the students a bright future. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Prashant Nahar, encouraged students to choose their specialties and work with dedication. The Principal, Dr. Suresh Goyal, administered the Hippocratic Oath, ensuring that the students would work diligently and impartially in patient care, maintaining confidentiality about patient information. All students pledged to serve patients with the latest research findings, ensuring they never provide harmful treatments.
Dr. Sarita Kant, the Superintendent, analyzed medical ethics during the event. The program was also attended by Registrar Dr. Devendra Jain, Dr. Chandra Mathur, Dr. B.L. Kumar, Prateek Agarwal, all department heads, and faculty members.
On this occasion, the poetry collection “Don't Call Me Back” by the college’s meritorious student, Ms. Vedvi Sharma, was released by the chief guests. The beautiful poetry collection created during her MBBS studies was appreciated by all. Faculty members provided detailed information about the facilities and resources available at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital.
Professor Dr. Shrinidhi of Physiology welcomed the guests enthusiastically. Outstanding postgraduate students were awarded by Ashish Agarwal, Dr. Prashant Nahar, and Dr. Suresh Goyal. Dr. Pranav Kumar from the Forensic Medicine Department expressed thanks. The event was managed by the academic team and MBBS students.
