Cooperative Bank Focuses on Long-Term Lending and NPA Reduction
Divisional review meeting chaired by RSCB MD Sanjay Pathak
Udaipur, . A review meeting of cooperative banks and the Cooperative Department of Udaipur Division was conducted at the Pratapnagar headquarters of Udaipur Central Cooperative Bank. The session was chaired by Sanjay Pathak, Managing Director of Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank Limited. Prior to the meeting, Pathak and Divisional Additional Registrar Mrs. Gunjan Chaubey inaugurated a public water cooler in view of the upcoming International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
During the meeting, Udaipur Central Cooperative Bank MD Animesh Purohit outlined the past year’s achievements and felicitated four PACS for their excellent performance under the computerization scheme. Micro ATMs were distributed to three societies, and symbolic cheques of ₹1 lakh each were presented to three farmers under the Gopal Credit Card Scheme.
Pathak stressed minimizing NPAs and emphasized distributing more long-term agricultural and non-agricultural loans in addition to short-term ones. He encouraged institutions to adopt all 54 initiatives under the "Prosperity through Cooperation" campaign planned for the International Year of Cooperatives. He also urged the creation of godowns to increase storage capacity and advised managers to diversify into other ventures for financial sustainability.
Addressing the PACS computerization scheme, Pathak instructed pending societies to go live by the end of the month. Regional Audit Officer Ashutosh Bhatt shared the current audit progress. Pathak expressed satisfaction and recommended audit proposals for FY 2024-25 be submitted as per rules.
The event was attended by divisional bank managers, district-level registrars, special auditors, and dairy officers. The vote of thanks was delivered by Animesh Purohit, and the program was conducted by Dr. Dharmesh Motwani.
